EU Compliance
All air conditioning and refrigeration equipment within the EU that contains fluorinated refrigerants must adhere to the F-Gas regulation. In order to comply, regular leak tests must be conducted by certified personnel. It is crucial to contain refrigerants and promptly detect any issues to prevent their release into the atmosphere. Automatic refrigerant monitors are effective tools for leak detection.
Implementing a permanent leakage detection system can reduce the frequency of required leak testing by 50%. However, this system must still be inspected at least once a year. For emissions exceeding 500 tonnes of equivalent CO2, a permanent leak detection system is mandatory and must be checked annually.
Monitoring benefits
Installing an automatic refrigerant monitoring system protects your building occupants, the environment and your HVAC installation:
• Proactive measurement 24 hours a day, 365 days a year
• Early awareness ensures earlier corrective actions
• Improved equipment operation: leakages impact reliability and energy efficiency
• Reduced risk of costly breakdowns
• Extension of your equipment lifetime: optimal refrigerant charge reduces component stress
• Compliance with (EU) F-Gas 2024 regulation and other national regulations
