Challenge
The Muscat Flower Festival is an annual event held in Muscat, the capital city of Oman. This festival showcases a wide variety of flowers and plants, highlighting the beauty and diversity of flora in the region.
The Muscat Flower Festival project presented several unique challenges that required careful planning and execution. The primary challenge was arranging the delivery of the cold storage equipment due to the limited space available at the site. Unloading the equipment was particularly delicate, as the presence of heritage items necessitated handling with the utmost care to avoid any damage. Additionally, the festival's location at AlQurum Park in Muscat posed logistical difficulties, given the area's congestion and high foot traffic. Furthermore, there was a need to arrange a power cable extending up to 150 meters and quickly fabricate the required Electrical Distribution Panel (DP) within a short timeframe.
Solution
Despite these obstacles, Trane's team rose to the occasion, ensuring that all challenges were met with innovative solutions and meticulous attention to detail. Trane delivered and installed five units of 20ft cold stores, each set to maintain a temperature of 4°C. Despite the logistical difficulties posed by the congested area of AlQurum Park and the need for careful handling due to heritage items, Trane managed the prompt delivery and installation of the equipment.
The team also handled all on-site activities, including delivery, unloading, startup, and cabling connections, which included arranging a power cable of up to 150 meters and quickly fabricating the required Electrical Distribution Panel (DP). This comprehensive approach ensured that the festival's floral displays were preserved in optimal conditions, contributing to the event's success.
Results
The successful implementation of Trane's cold storage solutions at the Muscat Flower Festival ensured that the floral displays were preserved in optimal conditions throughout the event. The prompt delivery and installation of the five 20ft cold stores, along with the efficient management of on-site activities, allowed the festival to proceed without any logistical setbacks. The careful handling of heritage items and the effective arrangement of power cables and electrical distribution panels demonstrated Trane's commitment to meeting the customer's needs.
As a result, the festival was able to showcase over one million flowers from more than 20 countries, transforming Qurum Natural Park into a vibrant and fragrant botanical masterpiece, much to the delight of its visitors.
